energy efficiency for businesses

Energy has become a major issue for business in recent years, with rising prices and concerns over disruptions to supply. Partly as a result, energy efficiency for businesses has become much more important. We regularly survey our members on these issues and lobby government to ensure that it takes all steps to ensure a continuous supply of energy.

We are concerned that businesses enjoy a level playing field and we continue to lobby government on the need for a liberalised energy market across Europe, whilst ensuring that environmental measures such as the EU Emissions Trading Scheme do not place UK companies at a competitive disadvantage.

EEF has conducted research on the barriers to business energy efficiency and is working with government on how to overcome them. As well as this, EEF provide business climate change information and guidance to employers.
