Vote announcement

We recently wrote inviting you to vote to approve a major reorganisation at EEF. This will see us merge our nine separate regional Associations in England and Wales into a single organisation, enabling us to improve the quality and range of services we provide but, crucially, continuing to provide them through our regional structure.

I can announce today that this initiative has received the overwhelming support of members in each Association - with a 96% vote in favour nationally. The result gives us a clear mandate to get on with creating the new structure and improving the service we provide.

Formal merger and registration of the new EEF will take place later this year, once remaining tax and pensions issues have been resolved. But this is only one aspect of what is a complex process and we shall keep you informed of developments as and when they happen. Until then it is business as usual at EEF and in the longer term we expect that the only change you notice will be one for the better.
