Pay and inflation update - December 2007
EEF's monthly pay and inflation update provides the latest data on pay settlements across manufacturing.
Key points from the latest Pay Bulletin and our inflation pages include:
- The average pay settlement was down slightly from 3.3% to 3.2% in the three months to November.
- The monthly average settlement fell to 3.0%.
- The proportion of pay freezes was at 2.9%, below the average of 4.5% for the year.
- CPI held steady at 2.1% while headline inflation (RPI) edged higher to 4.3% on the back of rising petrol prices.
