Information and Consultation - effective communication

A half day seminar for all managers and directors who are involved in the processes of employer/employee communications.

From 1 April 2008 all employers with 50 or more employees will be covered by the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004. Originally enacted on 1 April 2005 the Regulations focussed on organisations of 150+ employees but now smaller companies will fall within its scope. Do you have a consultative committee? If asked to form a committee would you know what you should do? If you already have a committee does it meet the standards set down in the Regulations.

Course Overview

The course has been developed by David Yeandle, Deputy Director of Employment Policy at EEF, and a leading authority on this complex issue.

It will provide a detailed resume of the Regulations and the impact they are having on companies. It will also include advice on how to address the changes that they have brought about, and the strategic issues they are highlighting.

It will provide an overview of the Regulations and advice on setting up a committee or ensuring that an existing committee meets the criteria in the Regulations. The course then moves into a more practical session looking at communication skills, improving participation in meetings and coping with the challenge of genuine consultation
