Constitution and governance

We are a company limited by guarantee. Consequently we do not have shareholders: our member companies are our guarantors. 

EEF is registered with the Certification Officer as an Employers’ Association under the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.

We are governed by the EEF Ltd Board which comprises a number of member elected directors, so that EEF is run by the members for the members.  Day to day operational management is delegated to the Executive Board.

EEF Ltd Board meetings are held six times a year, with Executive Board meetings held monthly.  To ensure strong governance a number of EEF Ltd Board sub-committees have been established.  These include:

  • nomination and remuneration committee
  • audit and risk committee
  • investment committee.

  • Annual general meetings

    Our Annual General Meetings keep our members informed of our performance.

  • EEF Financial reports and statements

    The EEF Limited Report and Financial Statements are provided annually, with financial year end as at 31st December.

    Our Main Board comprises primarily non-executive directors plus the EEF Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer.
