After many hours of deliberation, our team of judges have presented their shortlist of images for the EEF Manufacturing Photography Competition 2016.
Every year photographers from around the country celebrate the boldness and brilliance of UK manufacturing by entering into the competition. The judges are looking for images that can showcase the industry by capturing its diversity and dynamism. We now have a gallery of over 4,000 images to help us in our work promoting UK manufacturing to what we hope will be the next generation of engineers, and to reinforce the importance of the sector to the UK economy as a whole.
The competition is free to enter and open to anyone, with photographers entering one of three categories: Young (under 20), Amateur and Professional. Manufacturers have opened their doors to offer a snapshot of what they do day in, day out.
Once again, we’ve seen some wonderful imagery submitted to the competition. There’s photos of the skilled men and women that make products we use in our everyday lives, and high-tech equipment that creates infrastructure to enable businesses to operate across the globe; through this competition we can see the all-encompassing variety of UK manufacturing in its finest forms.
The shortlisted entrants can be viewed here and have been invited to an exclusive celebration event at the House of Commons Terrace on the 14 December 2016, when we’ll be announcing the winners of this year’s competition.
