Two important social media dates are coming up in the world of manufacturing. EEF is joining in the conversation and encouraging our members and other manufacturers to join us.
The week commencing 6 March is National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2017). Through @EEF_Apprentices, EEF will join hundreds of organisations tweeting about apprenticeships during that week. We'll be sharing 'day in the life' blogs from some of our apprentices as well as myth busting common misconceptions about apprenticeships and careers in manufacturing. We'll also be 'taking over' the @InspiringTF Twitter account on 9 March to share important facts and ideas about why apprenticeships are vital to the UK and manufacturing. Follow their account that day to see the conversation.
We are encouraging our members and companies or apprentices who train with us to participate by:
companies tweeting about why apprenticeships are important to their company or photos and stories about their apprentices (or employees who were apprentices earlier in their career)
apprentices tweeting photos of themselves on the job
sharing and engaging with our posts (following along with the hashtags #NAW2017, #getsetEEF, #getingofar and #ladderofopportunity)
sending us photos or quotes about why apprenticeships are important to them for us to post
For International Women's Day (#beboldforchange) on 8 March, @EEF_Insights will be sharing some of our inspiring Women in Manufacturing profiles, the successes of our award-winning female apprentices and compelling facts about why we need more women in manufacturing. We're encouraging our members to participate by celebrating the women in manufacturing (who they work with or otherwise) who inspire them. If you know a company, woman in manufacturing or apprentice who might like to participate or has a good story to share, get in touch with EEF's Digital Team.
