Leading politicians and senior industrialists will gather next February in the run up to the General Election for the flagship National Manufacturing Conference – ‘Manufacturing a Renaissance’ organised by EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation and sponsored by Asset Finance Provider Lombard.

Speakers already confirmed for the event, to be held at the QEII Centre in Westminster on 26 February, include the Deputy Managing Director of Toyota UK, Tony Walker, HR Director of Williams F1, Nicola Salter, EEF Chief Executive, Terry Scuoler, and the Chief Economics Commentator of the Financial Times, Martin Wolf CBE. The conference will be chaired by broadcaster, Steph McGovern.

As part of its ‘Make it Britain’ campaign in the run up to the General Election, EEF will publish its full election manifesto, laying down a challenge to all three main parties to pursue policies that will promote jobs and growth.

Following the conference, EEF will also be hosting the annual Manufacturers’ Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel. As well as a senior speaker from the political or business world, the after dinner speaker will be the broadcaster and former politician, Michael Portillo.

Commenting, EEF Chief Executive, Terry Scuoler, said:

“Next years’ conference will come at a critical time for business and all three main parties must have growth at the centre of their policies. Our event will give manufacturers the chance to talk to government and, opposition, about what the priorities should be to boost jobs and investment.”

Richard Hemsley, Managing Director of Lombard, commented:

“We are delighted to once again be headline sponsor of the EEF National Manufacturing Conference - particularly given the significance of maintaining levels of capital investment in this encouraging environment. We have worked closely with EEF for several years and know what a vital role they play in supporting the UK manufacturing sector. We look forward to welcoming heavyweights from across the political and industrial landscape to the conference in February.”
