EEF has announced a major partnership agreement with the global law firm DLA Piper which will see the firm sponsor EEF’s flagship quarterly ‘Manufacturing Outlook’ survey.
The survey, which has been running for more than two decades, is the leading barometer for the manufacturing sector and one of the UK’s most closely watched business indicators, regularly feeding into Government and the Bank of England and providing an important overview of trends in the sector for our manufacturing audience.
To build on the success the survey has been re-designed with additional questions. In addition to the normal indicators on output, orders, employment, investment intentions and analysis of sector and regional performance, new questions will be asked on export market performance and longer term confidence about firm level performance and the UK economy.
The new look report will also provide new details of manufacturing performance by company size as well as sector. This will provide the survey with an even greater degree of analysis for the sector’s performance.
Commenting, EEF Chief Economist, Ms Lee Hopley, said:
“We are delighted to have such a major partner on board to support our new survey. The more detailed analysis we will bring will reinforce the reports position as the pre-eminent indicator for manufacturing.”
Richard May, partner and Head of the Manufacturing sector at DLA Piper, said:
"We are extremely pleased to be partnering with EEF on the flagship Manufacturing Outlook report. DLA Piper has extensive experience advising clients in the manufacturing sector and we look forward to sharing up to the minute sector analysis, trends and forecasts with expert insight from EEF."
