Commenting on the agreement with Qatar to buy 24 Typhoon aircraft, Stephen Phipson, Chief Executive of EEF, the manufacturer’s organisation, said:

“The £6Bn contract with Qatar for the supply of 24 Typhoon jets is excellent news for the north west in particular, and for the manufacturing supply chain located throughout the country. The UK’s aerospace sector is vital to our national security and a major contributor to the economy. Government supported, export-led growth, enabled by a national combat-air strategy, is the means to securing its long-term future.”
