Nigel is the Operations Director at Jaguar Land Rover Solihull responsible for the manufacture of Range Rover, range Rover Sport, Discovery, Velar and the Jaguar F-PACE, with over 10,000 employees working a 3 shift operation.
Nigel joined Jaguar Land Rover in 2012 as the Group Powertrain Operations Director, with responsibilities for Powertrain Manufacturing strategy as well as the key operational deliverables for the group. This included the construction of engine plants in the UK, China and India with the sequential launch and on-going manufacture of Gasoline and Diesel engines from these facilities.
Nigel previously worked as Manufacturing Director for BAE Systems Military Aircraft where he was responsible for the Manufacturing Function and Strategy as well as the Shared Service Manufacturing Operations that produced composites, advanced formed Machines products for the Eurofighter Typhoon, F35 Joint Strike Fighter and Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer. During his time at BAE systems he led the team that were the first outside of the USA to be awarded the Shingo Bronze Medallion for Operational Excellence.
Nigel started his Career with Ford Motor Company in 1992 working in various roles in Vehicle Operations both in Engineering and Operations. In 2001 Nigel moved across to Powertrain and worked on the T4 retool programme in Valencia and latterly was the Manager for Diesel Engine Assembly for Ford of Europe based in the UK.
