What you will do
In this highly skilled, customer facing role you will train as a specialist Electrical Field Service Technician. After your training at EEF you will be expected to develop in your areas of skill and also become highly proficient in the use and maintenance of the company’s products. The company will lead you in this development, in this work role. This will allow you to gain your level 3 qualifications through your working experience. You will work alongside an experienced field service technicians, as well as other members of the service team, throughout the term of the apprenticeship and once you have gained a good level of technical knowledge of the company’s products and service excellence skills you will be allocated service jobs which you will attend and deal directly with our customer to provide World Class Service Machines.
You will gain the ability to manage your own time and work, in high pressure and sometimes volatile environments to strict deadlines without compromising on safety, so being able to keep calm in a crisis will be a valuable asset to you.
An excellent opportunity to progress within the business upon successful completion of this apprenticeship. On successful completion of the first year, you will be in company for 4 days per week and will be working alongside experienced field service technicians at customers' sites. This will involve hotel stays and you will be provided with a company vehicle, all required tools, laptop, mobile phone, fuel card and credit card to enable you to service our customers in the most effective way.
Alongside this you will be given incremental pay increases, subject to performance and completion of the Apprenticeship levels along with an annual bonus, loyalty bonus, private medical insurance & cash plan, life insurance, and many more benefits.
Training to be provided
As a field service apprentice you will receive a wide range of training at level 2 to start off your apprenticeships covering turning, milling, bench fitting, CAD, electrical wire & test.
Then returning to company you will receive training to help you complete an advanced level 3 position:
BTEC Engineering at level 3
NVQ Engineering at level 3
Functional Skills at level 2, as required
Ideally you will have or be expecting to achieve GCSE grade B’s, (6) or above in maths, science & computing or equivalent qualifications. Along with a good standard of general education
A pass grade (C/4) in English Language and Maths is essential to be considered for this role.
Due to the nature of this role, a full UK driver's license is essential from the start of Year 2 of this apprenticeship.
