Our manufacturing site at Bournville is the home of Cadbury chocolate. In the years from its foundation in 1879 to today, it has grown to produce millions of Cadbury chocolate products every year. We are proud to have approximately 800 people in our factory, from apprentices to operators and technicians making some of Britain’s much loved brands and products that include Wispa, Dairy Milk & Crème Egg to mention a few.

Following a £75 million site investment, you will get to work on state of the art lines and equipment at the site which makes over five million Cadbury Dairy Milk bars every day.

Our investment in Bournville is not just into new machinery, it is also about investing in the people who work here.  As a Food Operator Apprentice, you will join an established training programme where you will receive a combination of classroom and practical based training to allow you to learn the technical and functional skills required to start your career.

Vacancy description

Mondelez International are recruiting 48 Food and Drink Advanced Operator Apprentices to learn what it takes to work within the UK’s premium confectionery manufacturing business in the heart of Bournville, Birmingham. Manufacturing Cadbury’s one of the world’s leading brands of chocolate within an environment that adopts the most up to date processes and techniques. 

Our apprenticeships last 3 years and you will study towards a Level 3 Food and Drink Advanced Operator qualification. Training will cover:

  • Bench fitting
  • Electrical Maintenance
  • Mechanical Maintenance
  • Continuous Improvement / Lean Techniques
  • Food and Drink based Qualifications

Our apprenticeships encompass the operation of a number of fully automated production processes, factory quality, and hygiene and safety requirements (including GMP). You will be continually problem solving in order to help with continuous improvement.

On completion of your apprenticeship, for those who really shine during our 3 year programme, there will be a variety of opportunities available including technical operative, technician and manufacturing roles, plus options to continue into further education.

Training to be provided

 

  • Engineering Basic Skills training - off the job full time
  • Food and Drink Operator Diploma Level 3
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal, learning and thinking skills award
  • Functional Skills at level 2 in English, Maths and ICT, as required

 

Desired qualifications

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s, including English & Maths grade A*(9) - C (4)
