Martin is a highly experienced employment lawyer, who is responsible for managing the HR & Legal team in the Midlands (comprising EEF’s Birmingham, Melton and Cambridge offices). His primary focus is on ensuring that the team provides a high quality service to member companies. This includes supporting customers' commercial delivery requirements and ensuring that their business objectives are met.
Martin originally qualified as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand before immigrating to the UK in 1992, when he also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. After working in private legal practice in Lincolnshire he joined EEF in 2005, initially based at the Oakham office.
In addition to his team management responsibilities, Martin continues to provide employment law advice and support to EEF member companies across the full range of employment law issues. This includes TUPE, discrimination, reorganisation and redundancy issues.
