Richard is a Barrister and Senior Legal Adviser in EEF's HR & Employment Law Department. He qualified as a Barrister in 2001 and since 2003 has specialised in Employment Law.
Prior to joining EEF in 2018, Richard initially worked for a leading South Wales law firm as an Associate / Solicitor-Advocate for 6 years before returning to work as a Barrister in 2009. Alongside working as a Barrister, he was also Head of HR & Compliance for a large UK Charity. Working on a variety of cases from Unfair Dismissal, TUPE, Whistleblowing and complex Discrimination matters, Richard regularly attends Employment Tribunals across the country and has successfully represented clients in the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
Richard is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and provides training to companies and has previously lectured on Employment Law to HR Professionals on their MSc in Human Resource Management and provides assistance to companies on day-to-day HR problems.
