Stephen qualified as a Solicitor in 2013 after studying Law at the University of Gloucestershire, followed by the Legal Practice Course in Bristol. Since qualifying, he has specialised purely in Employment Law.
Stephen joined EEF in 2018.
As a Legal Adviser, he is responsible for:
- Advising member companies on day to day employment law issues
- Helping companies to find practical, realistic and commercial solutions to a range of legal and employee relations problems, e.g. TUPE transfers, restructuring and redundancies, equality, dismissals and settlement agreements.
- Representing companies in litigation in the employment tribunal.
- Delivering training seminars and ensuring companies are updated on employment legislation changes.
Prior to joining EEF, Stephen practised in two firms in Bristol with leading employment law departments. He gained a vast level of experience in contentious litigation and non-contentious employment practice. He has also been exposed to cases falling within the EAT and Court of Appeal, including being the representing Solicitor for the first appellate case to deal with the issue of ‘perceived’ disability discrimination.
In his spare time, Stephen is an avid golfer and a member of the Kendleshire Club in Bristol.
