Tom joined EEF as an Employee Relations Executive in 1991, and has been a member of the HR & Legal team since 1993. An Employment law and employee relations specialist with wide-ranging experience in both the public and private sectors, Tom manages complex Employment Tribunal cases for our key members and has also successfully defended a number of claims for Statutory Trade Union Recognition before the CAC.
In addition to providing advice on collective issues, Tom provides HR consultancy, in-house and in-plant training and has experience as the dignity at work counsellor, and has been Member Nominated Director of EEF Staff Pension Fund Trustee Company since 2004. Tom is a member of the University of Greenwich Business School "HR and Organisational Behaviour" Forum, a former CIPD branch chair and council representative and has been awarded the CIPD Award of Merit.
Previous experience includes, Personnel Manager with Bowring Insurance Brokers and The Crown Estate. Tom’s career in human resource management and industrial relations began in the late 1970’s at the Cabinet Office, Whitehall.
