Nearly half of UK manufacturers report that they expect to see improved export sales in 2016, accordingly to EEF’s Executive Survey released 11 January 2016. And of those surveyed, nearly one-third identified France and Germany as presenting the greatest opportunities. For defence and security manufacturers looking to capture the continent’s lucrative market for UK goods, NDI’s ‘Doing business together’ three-day conference on 1-3 February is a must-attend event.
As the trade body representing defence manufacturers (and EEF’s security expert), NDI will bring together professionals and advisors from the UK and France for networking and sessions on topics related to simulation, training and systems integration.
A major goal of the conference is to facilitate connections between businesses in the UK and France. Manufacturers and innovators are encouraged to share information about their best ideas and products and develop ongoing trade relationships. Unlike other conferences, the NDI event will include a structured approach to brokering meetings on the second day of the conference.
Conference attendees can look forward to (besides the ambiance of northern France) master classes/seminars delivered by industry luminaries, such as NEXTER, BAE Systems, MBDA and Thales.
For example, Thales will present on ‘We deliver mission readiness. Together.’ The session will dive into the current activities and innovations in France and the UK in the field of simulation and training.
The NEXTER class will look at ‘Training & simulation: our capabilities, our intentions.’ The presentation will provide an inside look at the company’s day-to-day work with the French Army, the Combat Training Centre for Infantry and the Urban Warfare Training Centre in accordance with the SCORPION program.
