Businesses need to get ready for fundamental changes to the world’s leading quality management standard ISO 9001.
It’s more than 15 years since the ISO 9001 standard had the last major revision. The changes set to be introduced this September will be major. Like other changes surrounding ISO, the new standard focuses on a higher level structure to make it easier to align effectively with other management systems.
Organisations have a three-year deadline to make the transition, however, with the updated effecting changes at strategic level, it is key that businesses begin this process early and start to understand, implement and embed the updates as soon as possible.
The benefits to businesses will be;
- Get greater leadership involvement;
- Improved risk management;
- Renewed status for quality and continuous improvement; and
- Greater customer focus
