Manufacturing Connect at Stannah

A manufacturing networking event hosted at Stannah Stairlifts Limited, exploring the Continuous Improvement journey and advantages this delivers to business.

Join us at multi-award winning company Stannah Stairlifts Limited and see how they have implemented Continuous Improvement. Hear from those who have taken part in it, and gain insight into the real contribution this approach has made to the success of the company.

Continuous Improvement (CI) is all about a company’s drive to improve their product, service or processes. Business Improvement can be categorised as incremental, that is to say taking place over time, or more radically it can be breakthrough, in which beneficial change occurs all at once. Models for CI have included Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management and the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle, also known as the Deming or Shewhart Cycle.

These models share a common emphasis on employee involvement and teamwork; measuring and systemising processes; and reducing variation in product, defects and process time.

This event is part of a UK-wide programme of showcase open factory visits, which EEF are running in support of the International Festival of Business 2014.

The event includes a factory tour, refreshments and a networking opportunity.
