At the National Manufacturing Conference 2016, Matthew Elliott, Chief Executive at Vote Leave, and Damian Green MP, Conservative European Mainstream Group, will debate whether the UK should stay in or leave the EU. Here is a preview of their discussion.

I believe Britain is stronger, safer and better off in the EU than we would be on our own. Leaving Europe would risk our prosperity, threaten our safety in an increasingly dangerous world, and diminish our influence, especially with the new powers emerging in the world. The benefits of being in clearly outweigh the costs, and the risks of pulling out from a group of friendly neighbouring democracies are potentially huge. Europe needs reform badly but staying in gives us the best of both worlds; membership of the world’s largest economic bloc, and the freedom to trade everywhere.
