As EEF membership director I was proud to host over 300 manufacturers from across the UK at IFB2016 in Liverpool. Under the banner of ‘Made in Britain. Loved by the World’ our manufacturing dedicated conference aimed to celebrate the innovation and successes of the UK industry, and look ahead to how we can work together to ensure UK manufacturing remains a leading player on the global stage.
With IFB2016 being the world’s largest business festival, our conference was well placed to take an in-depth look at the innovation that keeps international investors attracted to what we as a country manufacture, and what is needed from all sectors to support a successful future.
We were incredibly pleased to welcome as panellists some of the leaders in the industry to hear about their experiences and what they feel is needed to keep UK manufacturing competitive and successful.
We were also fortunate enough to hear from the UK Trade Minister Lord Price about the UKTI perspective and how they are planning to support the export opportunity in Britain, and also from Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, who shared his insights about the Cobra Beer success story.
The conference was a real success and I am delighted that EEF could provide this platform for celebration, networking and ideas-sharing.
Below is a summary from Twitter about the day’s events, and thank you to all who took part in the social media conversation.
