Factem

FACTEM has more than fifty employees based at Issy les Moulineaux (Head Office and Sales) and at Bayeux (R&D and production). Involved in various sectors of industry the company has an annual turnover of 8 million Euros. Concentrating on 2 centres of activity, acoustic and detection, we possess an industrial platform dedicated to the production, repair and renovation of mechatronic products. FACTEM has its own Design Office and uses modelling and industrial design tools in its projects.

Having taken over a production centre from Sagem, FACTEM benefits from its predecessors’ experience and know how in the fields of electro-acoustic and magnetism. FACTEM carries on the tradition of reliability and quality by developing products made from innovative materials in order to best satisfy customers’ requirements.

Concerned about the protection of the environment and high standards of quality, FACTEM complies with ISO 9001 and EN 9100 regulations. In order to maintain our competitiveness and guarantee products for our clients that comply with current regulations in the aeronautics industry, we have begun the procedures for PART21G certification.

So that we can respond to our customers’ requests and improve our manufacturing facilities, FACTEM has opened a factory in Bayeux and is currently engaged on an extension project. These new buildings on the current site, will enable us to capitalise on the experience of our work force and introduce state of the art equipment so that we can fully satisfy our customers’ expectations.

Acoustic

For more than 70 years, FACTEM has specialized in the design, development and manufacture of acoustic cells (microphones and earphones). This knowledge, sought after by the major players in the aeronautics industry, has allowed us to take our place in a fiercely competitive market. We design and manufacture quality products which are well-known in France and overseas, in both civilian and military sectors. We are continuing the development and production of acoustic products taken over from SILEC and SAGEM.

We manufacture a wide range of aeronautical products (headphones, and hard hats with built-in communications, radio/loud speaker combination, genephone etc.) as well as the associated accessories and connectors. Protection against noise pollution has become a priority in all sectors (military, industrial and for the general public etc.). With ever-increasing human and material resources, FACTEM has, in recent years, lead research in the field of active protection (ANR) and that of passive (choice of materials, earpieces etc.).

Beyond supplying equipment, we are now able to offer complete solutions in the form of audio and acoustic systems allowing wired or wireless communication in a controlled industrial or military environment. As a member of national and international acoustic associations, FACTEM takes part in several European projects.

Detection

We design and produce magnetic switches and inductors used for motion, position and limit detectors on equipment and moving systems in difficult environments.

These products are particularly valued and used in industrial environments, where motion and position detection is of utmost importance, or even vital. They are used in different applications (opening and closing locks, gantry cranes in ports, yacht delivery in rolling mills and steel works etc.) Our solutions offer contact-free detection, with no mechanical intermediary and functioning without any external power supply (no batteries, or mains supply).

This robust design can function submerged, and also in an explosive atmosphere (ATEX). The reputation of reliability, solidity and implementation simplicity, has largely contributed to these products being exported beyond our borders (Europe, America, and China etc.)
