Katmex Ltd

Originally Established in 1999 as a European division of the Katsushiro Matex Co. Ltd Group, Katmex is now a solely owned UK SME and is part of the Katmex Holdings Group, which also incorporates Maskell Engineering Limited. Katmex focuses on providing steel processed parts and fabricated Parts for medium to heavy industry.

Capacity to process 2500 ton of steel plate monthly using the latest technology gas and plasma cutting equipment, supported by additional processing operations such as bending, machining, chamfering, rolling and the capability of producing fabricated assemblies.

Katmex specialise in supplying the heavy earthmoving and construction machine manufacturers around Europe. Parts supplied are mostly for use in the manufacture of excavators, dumptrucks, backloaders, loading shovels, fork lifts and cranes.

Katmex are based in the North East of the United Kingdom, close to Newcastle. This enables Katmex to supply to the United Kingdom and Europe with parts made in the UK.

Initially set up in 1999 supplying Komatsu UK. Katmex are now supplying additional manufacturers in the UK and Europe.

As well as locally supplied product, Katmex have the experience to source from low cost countries and have partnerships around Asia. These parts can be stored locally and delivered to customers on a ‘just in time’ basis, giving a cost effective solution for parts and supply.

Production Planning and Control

Katmex have a dedicated Production Planning department using an Aventa ERP system to plan Katmex shop floor scheduling and production control. Cutting/Profiling management is acheived using a Sigmanest CAD CAM nesting system to ensure maximum material utilisation and production efficiency.
