Dealing with individual cases of sickness absence
This section looks at how to manage individual cases of sickness absence. We look at managing employees with an underlying medical condition (which may be a disability for the purposes of the Equality Act), and employees with no underlying medical condition. We look at how to manage long term sickness absence and frequent intermittent or short-term sickness absence. We also give guidance on stress, ill-health early retirement, catastrophic injuries, employees who you suspect are not sick and managing employees where there is the potential for a personal injury claim against the company.
