This page gives advice on how to respond in the extremely unfortunate event that one of your employees experiences catastrophic injury or illness. By ‘catastrophic’ we mean an illness or injury such as a major stroke or car accident which occurs without warning, which affects the employee so severely that they are unlikely to work again and where they are so incapacitated that you cannot deal with them personally.
