CPR and CE Marking post Brexit

If the UK leaves the EU without a deal UK Steel members will still, in some cases, be able to use the CE marking to demonstrate compliance with the legal requirements and to sell products on the UK market after 29 March 2019. However, in many cases you will need to apply the new UKCA marking to products being sold in the UK.

However, the new UKCA mark will not be recognised in the EU and members will need to use notifiable bodies with registered offices in the European Economic Area (EEA) for certification. Members should contact their notifiable bodies to confirm their plans for a no deal Brexit. In the meantime, UK Steel has produced a handy guide that outlines the keys points of conformity assessment, some useful links and contact details to submit your questions.
