Richard Warren joins UK Steel following three years as EEF’s adviser on energy and climate change.
In this role he worked closely with UK Steel and its members on a number of important projects; most critically the campaign to deliver the energy intensive industry package, shielding steel companies from the costs of the Government’s renewable energy policies, and the 2050 Low Carbon Roadmap for the steel sector.
Prior to EEF Richard worked on environmental policy within the food and drink manufacturing sector following a number of roles in local government.
“The steel sector is one of the UK’s most historically important sectors having played a critical role at pivotal moments in our nation’s past, from the industrial revolution right through to today. Working to protect and enhance this legacy remains at the heart of everything UK Steel does.”
