EEF Venues’ Broadway House in Westminster hosted a post 2016 Virgin London Marathon event at the venue on 24th April for the second consecutive year to welcome participants running in the marathon in aid of Sparks, a charity that raises money to fund pioneering children’s medical research.
Despite the unseasonably chilly temperatures on the day, Amanda Sutton, venue manager at Broadway House, and her team had a warm welcome awaiting the 45 runners and their families.
She said: “It was great to support this highly enthusiastic and energetic team of runners again and to welcome some familiar faces back to your venue. As well as replenishing their batteries with delicious food and plenty of hot beverages, we had some rooms set aside as massage areas for the participants.”
Matthew Buck, challenge events manager for Sparks, said: ”We were delighted to return to Broadway House this year for our Virgin Money London Marathon post-race reception. The venue is fantastic and offers a welcoming place for our runners to come and relax, eat some good food, and meet friends and family after their efforts in the marathon. This was the biggest year ever for Sparks in the Virgin Money London Marathon and we have raised over £300k for vital children’s medical research.
