EEF Venues has completed an upgrade to its payment system at Woodland Grange, the group’s residential conference venue in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

The venue has partnered with Verifone to install five VX 680 hand-held portable payment units within the restaurant, bars and reception areas to speed up the payment processing time for delegates and guests.

John Turpin, EEF Venues’ business support & development manager, says: ” Over a third of credit card transactions at reception and two thirds in the bars are under £30 in value, which makes the upgrade to contactless units a very attractive proposition for us.  It not only speeds up the service to our clients, but it means that we can also offer payments through mobile device technology, such as Apple Pay, for greater security.”

The large format, full colour, touch-enabled screens make the units very simple to operate and the contactless payment technology reduces processing time for all charges beneath the current £30 threshold.

“We see this as being part of our ongoing customer service improvement plan,” says John Turpin.

“We attract over 32,000 delegates to Woodland Grange each year, so this latest investment ensures minimal waiting time and maximum convenience as it means that our customers can choose to pay at their table in the restaurant or wherever it suits them.”
